We live in a world that is calling for our attention. Sometimes it can be difficult to hear God’s voice. And sometimes it can be difficult to believe that God is with us, or that God is for us. Spiritual direction offers a set aside space to notice what is happening within you and to pay attention to the movement of God in your life.
As a trained spiritual director, I offer space for you to share honestly about what is on your mind and heart. Consider what is stirring in you and we will explore explore the terrain you are walking together.
In whatever you bring, my goal is to listen deeply. I want to pay attention with you - to the places where you sense God's presence, the places where God may seem distant, and the questions, hopes, joys, and uncertanties that are a part of your story. I am comfortable sitting with those who are in in-between spaces and I am committed to be present, to listen well, and to pay attention.
I believe that together we can find the thread of God's light and grace woven through your story.

simply wanting to a have a safe space to bring your honest question, hopes, griefs, and joys
You don't have to know exactly what you need before you begin. Spiritual direction can be a place to bring the questions and discover, over time, what God may be doing in the midst of them.
Come ready to share what is on your mind and heart, even if it is not overtly "spiritual." I believe we will notice God’s work in your life by paying attention. In whatever you bring, my goal is to listen deeply as we consider together how you are experiencing God.
You can expect each session to run for approximately one hour, once a month. I am open to meeting more or less frequently depending on your preference. We can meet in person in Happy Valley, Oregon, or online.
Spiritual direction is not focused on a diagnosis and treatment, as in a therapy session, nor is it focused on forward movement or goal-setting, as in a coaching session. In spiritual direction, we slow down, listen, and bear witness to God’s presence in your journey of life and faith.
We may not necessarily come to tidy conclusions each session. My hope is that you will experience fellowship and companionship in whatever place you find yourself - even if that place is uncertain or in between.
I adhere to the Christ-Centered Spiritual Direction Association (CSDA) Code of Ethics and Doctrinal Statement and I uphold the confidentiality of our conversations.
Because I am serving others in the context of community life, we may interact with one another outside of a spiritual direction session. Details of our conversations will be completely confidential, but unless you specify otherwise, the fact that we are meeting will not be confidential.
I am mandated to report any potential or real harm to self or others.
My standard fee for spiritual direction is $90 per session.
I want spiritual direction to be accessible, so I reserve a limited number of reduced-fee spaces for those with financial constraints. Please reach out if the standard fee would be a barrier.
